Q: How do I register as a new student at Clarke?
A: If you are a new family registering at Clarke, call the main office to set up an appointment with the appropriate guidance counselor or to have a registration packet mailed directly to you.
Q: How do I arrange for school bus transportation?
A: Contact the transportation coordinator at the Central Office, (781)861-2580
Q: How do I find out the schedule for athletic teams?
A: At the beginning of the season, the coach will give a schedule to team members. It is posted on the athletic department calendar and the Clarke school calendar.
Q: What do I do if my child will be absent from school?
A: Call the absence line, x2000, before 9:00am to report your child absent.
Q: How do I dismiss my child early from school?
A: Send a note with your child explaining the time and reason for dismissal. The child needs to give the note to the main office upon arrival to school.
Q: What do I do if my child arrives to school late?
A: Either call the school to inform them that your child will be late, or send a note with the child for them to present to the main office upon arrival.
Q: What do I do if my child forgets lunch, instrument, homework, etc. at home?
A: Drop off the item at the main office, and your child will be called to pick it up.
Q: Can my child use the phone at school?
A: Yes. Students may use the phone in the nurse's office to contact their parents.
Q: Where is the lost and found?
A: Items that have been found are either in the main office or in the cafeteria.
Q: How do I contact teachers at Clarke?
A: Either by email or voicemail. Teacher email addresses generally follow the pattern "firstinitiallastname@sch.ci.lexington.ma.us" For example, Amy Hawrylchak's email is ahawrylchak@sch.ci.lexington.ma.us. If for some reason this does not work, please call the school. Teachers are also available by voicemail. Call the school number, (781)861-2450, and a secretary will assist you.
Q: What are the school hours?
A: Office hours on school days are 7:30am - 4:30pm. Students may enter the building at 7:50am. Homeroom begins at 8:00am. Dismissal is at 2:50pm. On half days, dismissal is at 11:45am.

Driving Directions
From Route 128: Get off at exit 30A (Lexington, Route 2A). Follow 2A (Marrett Road) for approximately 1.5 miles to the first traffic light at the intersection of Route 2A and Waltham Street. Turn right to Waltham Street and go to the first traffic light. Turn left onto Brookside Avenue and follow this road to the school.
From Route 2 (traveling East): Exit onto Route 128 (I-95) heading north. Then follow directions above.
From Route 2 (traveling West): Get off at exit 54B (Waltham Street to Lexington). Go approximately one-half mile to the first traffic light. Turn right onto Brookside Avenue and follow this road to the school.
Public Transportation
The school is accessible by 2 MBTA busses that depart from the Alewife oT Station in Cambridge.
Route 76 stops at the corner of Marrett Road and Waltham Street. Walk south on Waltham Street to the first traffic light. Turn left onto Brookside Avenue and follow this road to the school.
Route 62 stops in Lexington Center. Take the Lexpress Bus (Route 2) which departs from Depot Square to the stop at the corner of Waltham Street and Brookside Avenue. Follow Brookside Avenue to the school.
